St. Mary’s Church - current home of the Indian River Festival. Conceived of and planned by hand and paper. Harvested and constructed by hand and tool. I can’t walk inside these structures without reflecting on their back story - the amount of work tied to each beam, each post, each plank, each moulding and each carving. Fir, pine, spruce, maple and birch are represented, all sourced from the immediate area. Heart and soul poured into every square inch - an inherent warmth as the end result. To build a structure such as this is one thing. To maintain it? Something else. Much like a relationship. Much like these two. Much like the family and friends who support them and came to fill this space with their laughter, joy and a warmth of their own.

A Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa Wedding

Perched on Mount Pleasant, and overlooking Digby's harbour is the Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa. On a clear day you'll be able to look across to Smith's Cove and the mouth of Bear River, scallop trawlers and pleasure craft gliding back and forth in the foreground. Work your way through the streets of Digby and you'll step back in time as you follow the lazy bend of the resort's main entrance, passing rows of pine trees and hostas that eventually give way to the main lodge with its lone stone turret and red roof. A Tatamagouche Backyard Wedding

I'd never heard of them despite being fairly familiar with the Tatamagouche area. I'd navigated the twists and turns of Balmoral Road dozens of times and crossed Baileys Brook on my way to the village proper, but had no idea where those waters led. Pashala & Klaus directed me along an unnamed road and asked that I stop just shy of a bridge overlooking the brook. We walked along the water's edge, climbing over deadfall and ducking under larch bows. After a bend in the brook the temperature dropped. The air smelled fresh - just like rain or falling snow.
