I find downtown Dartmouth to be incredibly inviting. Hospitable. Alive. There is a slower, more reasonable rhythm that you can easily settle into and follow as you explore the side streets. Colours and character abound - especially in the summer months when trees are in full leaf and flower boxes in full bloom. A challenge for any wedding photographer is experimentation - stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something different during a session. Isolating a subject using focus / depth of field is something that we’re accustomed to, but what about isolating a subject using available light? Chasing light and shadow during this session was a goal of mine and I’m grateful for the light we had.
